MI Daily Error

The Michigan Daily was unaware I was running. They were alerted to the error and they wrote some stuff up on me yesterday. Here are my corrections:

At the top:

Correction: The article has been updated to include Jonathan Hoard, who will face Jenn Cornell in the Ward 5 Ann Arbor City Council election. A previous version of this article stated that Cornell would run unopposed.

Ward 5:

Jonathan Hoard is the only non-party-affiliated candidate running for a city council position this fall. Hoard will face Jenn Cornell in the only contested City Council election this November.

Hoard is a documentary producer, and Ann Arbor resident who hopes his ability to tell people’s stories transcends into his position as a councilmember.

More so, I gained the ability to listen to people - which my constituents say is a lost skill. My ability to see we have a dying currency on our hands, ushered in and perpetuated by our kleptocratic governements, transcends the role and responsibilities of a councilmember.

According to his platform, Hoard hopes to focus on reducing the size of local government and the number of projects taken on by the city, instead hoping to strengthen the existing structures.

Somewhat correct. Yes, reducing the size but making sure affected people are reallocated into more productive and fulfilling roles in society. Not the number of projects so much as the real return it offers back to the residents. Existing infrastructure not “structures.”

Additionally, Hoard is campaigning for a more transparent local government that will prioritize downtown Ann Arbor as a community hub.

I wouldn’t say this is a priority but I do think we need city sponsered disco dance parties. The coucilmembers could have a dance off. I would probably win.
